A Year at Strawberry Fields Digital Hub!

A Year at Strawberry Fields Digital Hub!

How time flies! It's been over a year since Brickweb entered a new phase in our ongoing development with our move to the Strawberry Fields Digital Hub. At the time of our moving, nobody could have predicted just what a difficult and challenging year it would turn out to be.

The Strawberry Fields Digital Hub is billed as 'a hi-tech business centre for digital and creative businesses', making it the perfect location for Brickweb, a business that is both digital AND creative. Brickweb was one of the first companies to choose the new, purpose-built complex, which was built at a cost of £8.4 million and partially funded by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund). The location offers no less than 54,000 sq ft of modern office space and is located in the heart of Chorley, minutes from Junction 8 on the busy M61 motorway.

Sustainability was a key factor influencing the design on Strawberry Fields Digital Hub and the complex is known to be one of the most environmentally-friendly in Lancashire. The centre has been awarded a Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) rating of 'excellent'. BREEAM, created by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) more than thirty years ago, is the UK's longest-established method of identifying, rating and finally certifying the sustainability of a structure.

Upon the opening of Strawberry Fields Digital Hub, Chorley Council Leaded Cllr Alistair Bradley said: "This is a hugely important development for Chorley that will put us right at the heart of the growing digital sector and create hundreds of high value jobs". Estimates provided by independent financial experts suggest that the hub generates at least £18.5 million for Lancashire's thriving economy.

Chorley is a location with a long, rich heritage and is the home and/or birthplace of many notable people including former England rugby union captain Bill Beaumont, 'This is England' actor Joseph Gilgun, Nobel Prize winner Sir Walter Howarth, billionaire businessman Trevor Hemmings, comedian Lee Mack, Tate gallery founder Sir Henry Tate and Speaker of the House of Commons Sir Lindsay Hoyle.

Due to the national lockdown, we're currently unable to welcome clients and visitors to our Strawberry Fields Digital Hub office, which is a real shame as we want to show it off to you! We are however still in full operation online, offering support, services and solutions to an ever-growing network of clients. Get in touch with us today!
